A braid (also called a plait) is a complex hairstyle or structure made by interlacing three or more strands of hair or other flexible materials. The simplest and most common braid consists of three strands woven together in a flat, solid pattern. More elaborate braids can use more strands and include styles such as fishtail, French braid, rope braid, and waterfall braid.
